Less Intriguing Topics

I was back in Texas tonight- if only for a couple hours.

Tonight I watched the Longhorns struggle (and eventually prevail) against BYU while drinking Shiner, eating bluebell and being immersed in a sea of burnt orange. The Shiner was a luxury: apparently it had to be carried over state lines by a saintly barkeep. For those of you who have yet to try Shiner Bock- it is the best Texas has to offer (don’t try Lonestar and judge us). Maybe it’s because I miss the accent but I felt oddly reassured while huddled in the basement of a bar with 100 other folks. Regardless, I had a wonderful night with a ton of fellow transplants while having exorbitantly priced beer and bbq! 

For refrence the last pic is of our newly formed air-band the 3rd time “God Bless Texas” was played (I am wicked on a fake drum set).

Water Conservation is beneficial to the environment….and funny!

Finally snapped a picture of our washrooms at work today. After 3 years I still I find the thought of some idiot lapping up water from our toilet tank hysterical.
I also take exceeding joy in the fact that the city mandates that we list the fact that you should not ingest said water several times throughout the facility.

Friends Assemble!
I have an internship interview next week in New York (yay!!!): I don’t know what to wear to it (boo…)

Good news- that’s where you and social media come in.
It’s at a creative firm; so I don’t feel a huge pressure to wear the traditional black suit and white shirt (*plus I own neither of these). I would be forever grateful for some feedback other than Blake and Phyllis’ on what looks good or not.

It’s been brought to my attention that my tumblr name looks more like Jeny Eats than Jen Yeats (its sad when even my blog correctly implies I’m slightly overweight). While it was unintended I do happen to eat ALOT; so here’s a montage the latest things I’ve consumed!

Asparagus Puree from The House: This place has the most amazing Mac n Cheese…GO immediately!
Cookies and Muffin from Levain Bakery: The Chocolate and Walnut cookies are to die for, but should be split with several friends.
Raspberry Tart from this sweet little café whose name I cant recall
Dumplings from Vicky’s Dumpling House
Shake Shack Burgers and Fries: I shall never drink fast food shakes other than these again.
Raspberry Gelato from Eatly: I also highly recommend the Coconut Gelato.

My next food blog will most probably include a review of Wendy’s fries via the Houston airport: stay tuned.
